The Reverend David H. Hensler

David H. Hensler was born on June 21, 1939 in Saginaw, Michigan, the son of Alfred and Dorothea Hensler. He entered Hillsdale College, Hillsdale, Michigan in 1957 and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1961 majoring in Human Relations. His vicarage year was spent at Lutheran Homes inc., an elderly care center in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and he received his Master of Divinity degree from Concordia Lutheran Seminary, Ft. Wayne, Indiana in 1991. he was ordained on June 2, 1991 in Saginaw, Michigan at Messiah Lutheran Church.

Prior to entering the Seminary, he was employed as a retail clothing store manager for 22 years and has resided in Wyandotte, Warren, and Saginaw, Michigan.

While at the Seminary, Reverend Hensler received credit for completion in Clinical Pastoral Education at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne. He served as a volunteer at the Allen County Jail as the assistant chaplain.

On June 13, 1959, he was united in marriage to Sharon McCray of Saginaw. Their marriage has been blessed with five children; Kimberly, Kirk, Krista, Kendra and Keith. They have the joy of eight grandchildren. Their address is 2115 Dodge Road, Clio.

His first pastoral assignment was the dual parishes of Prince of Peace Church in Cameron, and Hope Lutheran Church in Bethany, Missouri from July 1, 1991 to November 15, 1995. he served as Pastoral Counselor for the LWML Zone. Reverend Hensler was active in the Cameron Ministerial Alliance. He now serves St. Timothy Lutheran in Otisville as of December 1, 1995.
